Despite controversy over Nintendo’s resistance to streaming Super Smash Bros. footage in recent years, 2014’s edition of the popular fighting game tournament Evo will include the fighting game mash-up. This will be the second year the GameCube exclusive Smash Bros. Melee will be offered for players. Melee is considered the purest of the games in the series without a tripping mechanic which removed the sequels from tourney contention.
In total, seven games will be featured in the 2014 Evo event, taking place on July 11th through the 13th in Las Vegas’ Hotel & Casino. Event matches – across seven games – will be streamed online. You can bookmark Evo’s official website to keep up with the show and eventually watch the brawling (or in this case, melee) online.
