Rumors of an oft-mentioned Halo live action feature film swirled through industry news this week, penning in Ridley Scott as a potential producer. Tweets names dropped the Alien director until Microsoft themselves squelched the burst of pent up excitement. Responding to Eurogamer:
“We plan to continue telling the Halo story through innovative channels, but there are no plans for a Halo motion picture at this time.”

Microsoft’s announced “premium” Halo TV series remains in the works and the next video game edition is due this year for Xbox One. Of course, there is a regular stream of merchandise funneling into the market at any one time, and Halo: Spartan Assault recently ported to Xbox One, while it’s due on Xbox 360 soon. There is still plenty of Halo to sink into.
