Rockstar’s problematic launch of GTA V’s online component is producing a Rockstar-like apology: $500,000 worth.
Anyone who has logged into GTA Online in October (the service launched October 1st) will need to download an upcoming “clean up” patch, which will not only squelch remaining bugs but open the game to what Rockstar is referring to as GTA’s stimulus package.
Deposits will be made in dual $250,000 increments (as to not bust the game’s economy), and Rockstar will let players know when to expect the influx of cash via the Rockstar Newswire. The first dose of relief funds are due sometime the week of October 14th. Players do not need to do anything outside of logging in and downloading the update.
