Battle.net was seized by unscrupulous types in the past 48 hours, the digital intrusion leading to access to e-mail addresses, security questions, encrypted passwords, and mobile/dial-in authenticators. Financial data was safe from any ill will.
Blizzard’s post runs through the usual precautions, from changing your password on Battle.net and doubly so if you use the same security combinations elsewhere. Battle.net users will be prompted to make these changes as a reminder. While they investigate the incident, users should be on the lookout for phishing scams now that said data is out there. Note that users in China were not affected.
