IGG has announced that Altis Gates‘ closed beta test is drawing close, officially taking off at 8:00 PM EST on February 2nd. The Closed Beta test will close on February 11th, at 10:00 EST, for ten full days of Altis Gates beta. IGG warns players that all account data and characters created (including those retained from the Alpha Test) will be removed at the end of the Closed Beta.
Players who already participated in the Alpha Test of Altis Gates are already set for participation in the Closed Beta, as the account information from the AT has been saved for the CB. Also, players who participated in the Alpha test need only run the game and upgrade to the Closed Beta client automatically. IGG assures prospective Beta testers that “The main difference between the AT and then upcoming CB is that the CB will be much less exclusive and activation keys should be much easier to come by.” The games’ beta keys are not guaranteed to everyone, but players who are interested can check out the Altis Gates website and forums to enter for a chance to win one.
Altis Gates is a very nicely detailed turn-based 2.5D MMORPG. The games architecture and look is impressive, reminiscent of a quality, top-down Zelda or Ys game. It feature an immersive and interactive pet system, where pets have a huge range of temperaments and personalities. It also features some ten different quest types, ranging from storyline-related quests to chamber of commerce quests, to suppression quests, etc. The game also has plenty of interesting challenges to keep higher-level players interested, (like the Space Rifts and Elemental Lords).
