BioShock 2: No Dedicated Servers, No LAN

PC gamers, get those petitions ready. In a Q&A at 2K Games, the developers confirmed they will not support dedicated servers or LAN play for their upcoming BioShock sequel. The company cites development issues, stating that creating multiplayer with the BioShock engine was hard enough, so including additional support for LAN and dedicated servers would have only disappointed people.

Given the quality of the original BioShock, its story-driven brilliance, were many even planning on playing it locally over LAN in the first place? Is the multiplayer portion even going to be a focus for many? Even in the case of a successful multiplayer experience, can it last against PC favorites (that also lack these same features) such as Modern Warfare 2?
